Do I have to book a party to celebrate my child’s birthday at DCM?
Parties are not permitted in the Café space or exhibit areas. A party reservation is required to host your celebration.
Who is counted in the number of guests for my party package?
The number of guests in each package includes the birthday child, their family, and every guest age 1 year and up.
Can I use my membership or my guests’ memberships towards admission for the birthday party?
No. Memberships, coupons, and special passes may not be used as entrance for birthday parties. However, you do get a discounted rate on birthday parties with your DCM membership.

Please note: All of our party rooms include the same amenities. Room placement is based on size of party. The reservation of a specific party room is not available.
When do I pay the balance of my birthday party?
Payment in the full amount due is required before leaving the Museum the day of the party. The Museum has the right to charge the credit card on file for any unsettled balance at the end of the birthday party date.
Do I need to be present when my guests arrive?
No. If you have scheduled a pre-play or are setting up your party room, the front desk can send your guests to play until you are ready for a party announcement.
Is catering available in the Museum?
Bean Sprouts Café can cater your day! View Catering Menu. Outside food (aside from cake) is not permitted at parties.
Can you provide refrigeration for the cake that I bring?
Yes, we are able to offer fridge and freezer space only for cake and ice cream.
When can I start decorating?
The Party Room will be available 15 minutes before the reserved time for setup/decoration. Additional decorating time may become available at the discretion of the Manager on Duty.
Can I have a costumed character come to my child’s party?
Characters and entertainers are welcome with the exception of characters with full face masks. Characters and entertainers must be approved prior to your party. Please inquire for more details.
