There’s always something fun to celebrate at DCM!

Each month, we’re spotlighting a fun, quirky, or inspiring day from around the world—think National STEM Day, International Rubber Ducky Day, Sweetest Day, and more! Join us for themed drop-in activities, story times, and a special Studio add-on that brings each celebration to life.

These mini-celebrations are included with museum admission or membership, so come see what’s in store and add a little extra pizzazz to your day!

International Rubber Ducky Day

Quack, splash, and play! International Rubber Ducky Day at DCM is all about water, creativity, and a little bit of silliness. Bring your curiosity and join us for ducky-themed fun that’s sure to make a splash!

  • Duck Hunt – You’ll find ducks in silly places all over DCM today!

 

What it’s all about: Even the simplest toys can spark big ideas! How can you explore, experiment, and create today? Try observing how things float, test what makes your duck fly or spin, or design a new ducky game. Science, physics, and creativity are all in the mix—just add water!

Valentine's Day

Love is in the air—and all around the Museum! Valentine’s Day at DCM is a celebration of kindness, connection, and creativity. Today is a special chance to show appreciation for the people who make your world brighter, through thoughtful gestures big and small. Come play, create, and share the love together!

Pi Day

It’s Pi Day or International Mathematics Day—and the fun goes full circle! Celebrate numbers, shapes, and problem-solving with playful, hands-on math adventures throughout the Museum. From counting and sorting to measuring and building, Pi Day at DCM shows kids that math is something you can touch, move, and play with.

What it’s all about: Pi reminds us that math is everywhere. Even in something as simple as a circle! What patterns can you find? How many ways can you count, sort, or measure today? Through playful exploration, children build early math skills like number sense, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving—discovering that math is fun, creative, and full of possibilities!
