Designed especially for Scouts, DCM STEAM Labs spark curiosity, support open-ended making & tinkering, and promote critical thinking. Each 60-minute lab is facilitated on-site at DCM by an experienced educator. Labs available for Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Lion, Tiger, and Webelos. Time to explore the Museum and supplies are included with every program.
STEAM Lab Cost:
DCM Members: $20 per Scout* | Non-members: $25 per Scout*
*Each Scout may bring one grown-up, free of charge

Tinker with your very own vehicle design! Using various materials and different wheel shapes, engage in the engineering design process as you build, test, and iterate to develop a unique car.

Design and build a tiny, traveling robot made from a simple circuit and upcycled materials. Help your “travel bot” navigate the DuPage Children’s Museum by creating 3-dimensional pathways on a map.

From self portraits to mosaics to making three dimensional artwork, join us for an exploration of art and shapes. Be inspired by the natural world to create & make different art projects while learning about various art mediums and styles.
