International Something Days!

There’s always something fun to celebrate at DCM!

Each month, we’re spotlighting a fun, quirky, or inspiring day from around the world—think National STEM Day, International Rubber Ducky Day, Sweetest Day, and more! Join us for themed drop-in activities, story times, and a special Studio add-on that brings each celebration to life.

These mini-celebrations are included with museum admission or membership, so come see what’s in store and add a little extra pizzazz to your day!

World Book Day

It’s World Book Day—and every page is an adventure waiting to happen! Step into stories, spark your imagination, and celebrate the magic of reading through hands-on, creative experiences throughout the Museum. From storytelling and puppetry to writing and illustrating your own tales, World Book Day at DCM brings books to life in ways kids can see, touch, and create.

  • Story Times | Creativity Connections (10:00, 11:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00)
  • Puppet Theater | Creativity Connections
  • World Book Day Themed Interactive | Shadow Area
  • Bookmaking & DIY Bookmarks | The Studio
  • Story Cubes | Second Floor, The Questioneers Classroom
  • Magnetic Poetry | Second Floor, The Questioneers Classroom

What it’s all about: Stories help us explore new worlds, understand others, and express ourselves. Whether listening, creating, or acting out a tale, children build early literacy skills like vocabulary, comprehension, and creativity. What story will you discover—or create—today?
