Winter in July

July 1–31, 2026

Beat the heat with a cool escape filled with sock skating, snowy building challenges, and frosty imaginative play.

What You’ll Do

Slip and slide across our indoor sock skating rink, toss soft “snowballs,” and whip up pretend cocoa creations. Build icy worlds with white, blue, and clear LEGO® bricks, stack and create on our mirrored “ice” DUPLO table, and add ribbons and movement to your own winter performances. It’s everything you love about a snow day—without the coats, mittens, or shoveling.

Cool Fun

Experience Features

Why This Play Matters

Winter in July invites children to experience movement, creativity, and discovery in unexpected ways. As they glide, build, imagine, and experiment, children practice essential physical, cognitive, and social-emotional skills. By transforming a hot summer day into a playful winter adventure, this experience encourages curiosity, resilience, and joyful learning through hands-on exploration.

Growing with Play

Younger Children

Little ones may enjoy sliding and stopping on the sock rink, scooping and pouring ingredients at the Cocoa Counter, and exploring textures and reflections on the mirrored DUPLO “ice.” Building simple structures and engaging in pretend play helps strengthen fine motor skills and confidence.

Older Children

Older children can challenge themselves to spin, glide, and create movement routines on the rink, engineer snowy LEGO landscapes and structures, and experiment with how objects move and interact during snowball play. They may also invent stories, games, and winter adventures to share with friends and family.

Play Together
Ask questions like:

  • “I wonder how far you can slide.”
  • “What do you notice about moving on the ‘ice’?”
  • “Can you build something that looks like it belongs in winter?”
  • “How could we make this snowball game different?”
  • “What would you serve at your cocoa shop?”
