BEFORE YOUR VISIT

Can I purchase tickets on-site at the Museum? 

Yes. Advanced ticketing is recommended to guarantee Museum admission. Get Tickets Now. Walk-ins are welcome; however, if the Museum reaches capacity, there may be a wait for admission. Holidays and special events see increased attendance. Please call 630.637.8000 if you require assistance.

 

Cancellation Policy 

Tickets are non-refundable after purchase. They may be rescheduled based on availability if notified at [email protected] on or before the ticket date (fees may apply otherwise).

 

Do members have to make reservations before visiting the Museum? 

Advanced ticketing is recommended to save time at check-in and guarantee Museum admission. Walk-ins are welcome; however, if the Museum reaches capacity, there may be a wait for admission. Holidays and special events see increased attendance. 

To receive your member benefit of free admission, please make sure you are signed in on the sales screen. Register and Sign In are located in the upper right hand corner of the sales screen on a desktop or upper left hand corner on mobile.

DURING YOUR VISIT

Mask Policy 

Masks are optional. As a reminder, if you or a member of your party is exhibiting any flu-like or Covid symptoms, please follow the CDC guidelines and stay home for the safety of all guests, staff, and volunteers.

 

Is food allowed in the Museum? 

Yes. Please enjoy Bean Sprouts Café offerings or brown bag lunches/snacks from home in the café space. Outside food or drink are not allowed. Food is not permitted in the exhibit spaces.

 

Do I have to book a party to celebrate my child’s birthday at DCM? 

Parties are not permitted in the Café space or exhibit areas. A party reservation is required to host your celebration.

 

Can I leave the Museum and come back later? 

Yes. Guests are able to leave the Museum and reenter the same day. Must notify a Guest Experience staff member working at the front desk.

 

Will private lockers be available for use? 

Yes. Private lockers and coat racks will be available.

 

Will all of the exhibits be open? 

Some exhibits may be closed. DCM reserves the right to close exhibits as needed for the safety of our guests.

 

Behavior Expectations

Be kind. DCM is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. DCM expects appropriate behavior from ALL persons.

Refrain from the following: This list is not exhaustive but is meant to provide examples.

  • Using offensive, abusive, or threatening language and behavior
  • Fighting, either verbally or physically
  • Destroying property intentionally
  • Wearing clothing depicting obscene messages through language or graphics

 

Any behavior deemed inappropriate may result in dismissal from the Museum building or DCM remote programs with no refund of any purchased ticket and/or cancellation of Museum membership with no refund.

 

What safety protocols is the Museum taking to keep everyone safe? 

Your safety is our top priority. To help provide the safest play experience possible, we’ve enhanced our already robust procedures:

  • Face masks are optional
  • Social distancing is encouraged
  • Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the Museum
  • Air filters are frequently changed and extra outdoor air is being brought in
  • CDC guidelines for cleaning are being followed

 

Museum guests are asked to stay home if someone is not feeling well. 

If you or anyone in your group are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms, please stay home:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

 

 

TO REDEEM BENEFITS, TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN PERSON

Proof of eligibility will be required at check-in for guests using these benefits. 

To Use Reciprocal Benefits through the CLIMB Network: Must show your up-to-date membership card from your home Museum with the CLIMB sticker at check-in. 

To Use Reciprocal Benefits through the ACM Network: Must show your up-to-date membership card from your home Museum with the ACM logo at check-in. 

To Use Active Military Family Benefit: Must show active, non-expired military ID at check-in.
