Bring your curiosity and creativity to the Studio and create a masterpiece. Each week in The Studio, we will explore a different theme that incorporates elements of art, math, and science!
This Week’s Art Activity
Monday, March 20 – Sunday, March 26
It’s a Bugs World
Imagine the world from a bug’s perspective! What does that look like? Come and create your very own 3D bug world.
March – Budding Transformations
The spring season, full of transformations, will be sweeping through the Museum this month! Find the geometry hidden in nature, get your hands dirty, and explore.
Upcoming Art Activities
- Fluorescent Blossoms
Monday, March 27 – Sunday, April 2
Explore radial symmetry as your blossoms transform themselves into a neon work of art. Then visit Creativity Connections and see your artwork glow in the dark!
- Wonderland of Color
April 3 – April 9
Discover the science of ‘resist art’ (think oil and water) as you make an oil pastel drawing surrounded by surprising colors that blend together.
- Playful Puppets
April 10 – April 16
Create a puppet and explore imaginary play through storytelling.
- Mythical Math Mosaics
April 17 – April 23
Create a circular mythical mosaic working with patterns of shapes and colors – inspired by stained glass art.
- Earth Day Paper Making
April 22 – Earth Day
Join us in celebrating Earth Day using the paper making process to create an ‘earth’ embedded with flower seeds for planting.
- Flower Math Garden - Art Installation
April 24 – April 30
Join in the collaborative art process of making a Flower Math Garden using recycled materials. We’ll create through discovery; how many petals does it take to make a flower, how tall can a flower grow, or how can symmetry create a flower pattern?
No registration is required.
Open ½ hour after the Museum, closes ½ hour before the Museum*
