Patterns, Strategies, & Number Sense with Field Trip

Pattern recognition and number sense are essential skills needed by young children to assure their success in math, and in the future. Familiar materials are used by students to help them see the math in everyday life. Your students will use familiar objects to:

  • Practice patterns and sorting

  • Build a number line

  • Sort into sets

  • Estimate volume and size

  • Practice the language of math



Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards:

  • Knowledge and sense of numbers
  • Describe common attributes, patterns, and relationships in objects
  • Concepts of geometry and spatial relations


Common Core Standards for Math:

  • Counting and Cardinality

  • Measurement and Data
  • Grades PreK – K
Lab Time
  • 1 Hour (adjustable)
Pricing per Learning Lab
  • $13 per child
  • $8 per adult

Requires a 6:1 child/adult ratio. Prices listed do not include transportation of students to/from the Museum.
