In Remembrance

Louise M. Beem, Co-Founder of the Museum, died in her sleep on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Louise was the intellectual force, a remarkable and inspiring mentor, committed to creating environments for children where they could construct their own knowledge and become confident problem solvers.

Louise touched the lives of thousands of teachers, caregivers, Museum staff, and through them, the lives of millions of young children.A quote from Louise sums up her feelings about the institution she co-founded: “DuPage Children’s Museum has been a great joy. I have met so many interesting people during this journey – bright, enthusiastic, and so creative. You can’t help but have a good time.”
