10:30 am to 10:50 am
Shake, rattle, and roll with Nancy and her guitar during this special Music & Movement Time.
Nancy is a longtime volunteer at DuPage Children’s Museum. She have been a volunteer from the very beginning – even before a location was chosen. She began music sessions when the Museum first opened a physical location in Wheaton. She has a degree in Elementary Education with Early Childhood emphasis and taught preschoolers at the College of DuPage Louise Beem Early Childhood Center. Nancy also was an instructor for the adult course “Music and Movement for the Young Child.” She is a member of The Elizabethans singing ensemble and loves singing and using her guitar for accompaniment.
Children love music! They feel music physically and emotionally. Young children are learning that movement communicates messages and represent actions. They “think with their bodies” well before they think with words. Body movement is not only fun for children but also a good opportunity for them to solve problems. So let’s get moving, have fun, and make some music!
