Introduce children to the arts in a family-friendly setting with a Tiny Great Performance™ at the Museum!
Arranmore Arts brings Hans Christian Andersen to DCM! Hans Christian Andersen and his unlikely companions, travel through time and space, to find new ways to tell some of his classic tales. Emphasis on the multiple global origins of stories and how stories can change with the times. Even the Little Mermaid gets a feminist makeover, with some help from the audience. Stories include The Princess and the Pea, The Nightingale, The Ugly Duckling, and The Little Mermaid.

Arranmore Arts was founded by graduates of the Chicago Academy for the Arts, who discovered that the Western Suburbs needed access to high-quality programming, that one might typically have to venture into downtown Chicago to find. By tapping into the rich pool of professional talent in Chicago, Arranmore Arts brings inspiring artists into the very closest experiences with their audiences. Arranmore Arts prides itself in truly collaborating with their partners. Through plays, musicals and workshops, Arranmore Arts travels to venues with the goal of inspiring the next generation.Tiny Great Performances™ bring professional and community performers to the Museum to promote a life-long love of the arts in children and their families.
Visitors are welcome to stop, listen, watch, and/or participate. These performances are included with Museum admission or membership.
