Introduce children to the arts in a family-friendly setting with a Tiny Great Performance™ at the Museum!
Arranmore Arts brings “Alice Through the Looking Glass” to DCM! In this musical adaptation of Lewis Carrol’s “Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There”, we meet familiar, as well as some of the more obscure, original characters. The Alice of this tale learns about appreciating those around her and how to share memories through books, even when loved ones are far away. The story takes place during the events surrounding WWI but there are no obvious or scary mentions of war-related topics.
Enjoy 20-minute performances at 1:00 and 1:45 p.m.
Arranmore Arts was founded by graduates of the Chicago Academy for the Arts, who discovered that the Western Suburbs needed access to high-quality programming, that one might typically have to venture into downtown Chicago to find. By tapping into the rich pool of professional talent in Chicago, Arranmore Arts brings inspiring artists into the very closest experiences with their audiences. Arranmore Arts prides itself in truly collaborating with their partners. Through plays, musicals and workshops, Arranmore Arts travels to venues with the goal of inspiring the next generation.Tiny Great Performances™ bring professional and community performers to the Museum to promote a life-long love of the arts in children and their families.
Visitors are welcome to stop, listen, watch, and/or participate. These performances are included with Museum admission or membership.
The Tiny Great Performances™ Series is made possible in part by donations from the following sponsors: Ken & Regina Witkowski. This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
